Sisa Grey Interview
Being a part of a show my kids loved made it more special and fun for me
- Thank you Sisa Grey for your time for the Star Wars Fans.
The honor is absolutely mine. Star Wars fans are pretty amazing and may be the coolest fans out there.
- Sisa, When was the time you knew you wanted to be an actress?
Growing up in the island of Sāmoa, my father’s life as a composer, songwriter, singer and musician lead me to my love of acting. I knew at a young age it was something that kept me curious.
- Among other things, you played in "Skeleton Crew" Kona in 4 episodes. Were you a Star Wars fan before you got cast?
I’m a fan or the original films. But my kids are big fans of the entire SW universe if that’s the correct way of saying it. Being a part of a show they loved made it more special and fun for me.
- Could you share some funny, remarkable, weird stories regarding the filming of your scenes ?
Working with Jude was more than I could ever imagine. But one of our scenes, Jaleel and I had to pick him up and drag him, I was too into character that I wasn’t aware I kept pulling his chest till he asked me to pull from his shirt because I was hurting him. I felt like an idiot, but Jude was such a class act and gentleman that he didn’t make you feel awkward or stupid. Boy did I.
– With a role in a Star Wars Series like Skeleton Crew comes a Big Fan Community, what are your first star wars fan experiences?
Let me just say that the ones who’ve reached out, they created some pretty cool art work. Especially one who made their own legos of Kona and the Pirates. That was pretty cool and wish Disney would get on that Lego set for the pirates…wink wink.
- You also worked in another series i love to watch. "Legends of tomorrow". How was it playing Wolfie in the DC´s Universe?
Playing Wolfie was super awesome. Got to do some of my own stunts and act like I would with my kids. (Lol)
- You worked for so many Movies and series ,what is your favorite role of all and why?
There’s something special about each job I take because I’ve met some great human beings through them. Besides Kona, one of my favorite roles I’ve done so far is a role I play on the upcoming season of Fallout. Can’t speak on it yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing that one. Got to play with some heavy hitters, and it was a fun role for me to portray.
- Is there something special you would love to do in the future? Maybe another role in Star Wars? Or a special actor to work with?
As a Sāmoan, we love to laugh. I’d love to do a comedic action role with the two big Polynesians in the game, Dwayne Johnson or Jason Momoa. I worked with Jason on Chief Of War that comes out Aug 1, but he’s been killing the comedy in his other works. It would be an honor to do some comedy with those two braddahs. And heck yeah, come back as Kona on SW would be a dream. Let’s make it happen Disney!! (lol).
- Thank you for your time Sisa Grey! Let’s end this interview with some words for the fans?
SW Fans, thank you for your love for Kona. She’s a badass and loved every moment playing her. Throw a CHEEEEEEHOOOOOO and a Shaka the next time you see her.
- Thank you and i hope to see you some day on a German Star Wars Convention.
It would be an honor, bro. Stay blessed!
