Jesse C Boyd Interview
The Other W man
Hello Jesse c. Boyd and thank you for your time for the Fans of The Walking Dead.

My pleasure!

- Jesse , When was the time you know you want to be an actor?
I have always wanted to be an actor as far as I can remember. I started acting literally in kindergarten and ever since it’s been a part of my life. It’s something I have inherently known I was meant to do.

- You worked in one of my Favorite series. “The Walking Dead” How did you get cast ?
Boy, it was a long time ago so I will do my best to recount. I had auditioned for the show several times and then one day I got a call from my agent saying your booked for the walking dead if you want it but it’s a total secret so I can’t tell you anything about the role. I said yes immediately.  I went in for wardrobe fitting and met with producers and left still not knowing much about the part. The first day on set I learned about my role. The rest is history.

- Which role did you play in the series?
I was cast as “The Other W man”. I had read for the original W man and I guess Greg Nicoterro thought I would be great for his accomplice after my initial read. Later after a couple of episodes they gave my character the name, “Blond Wolf”. Then I came back for another episode the following season. Later somehow his name got changed to Edward. I’m not even sure how. He was never called that but somehow it showed up on the internet somewhere. One day I got another surprising call from my agent many years later saying they were bringing me back for another episode on the last season.  Greg brought my character back for one final send off. I’m so thankful to the walking dead and Greg Nicotero (who also brought me in for AMC “CREEPSHOW” as well). It really changed the trajectory of my career.

- Working in TWD, What is the first what you remember when you look back on set?
The utter excitement of it all. The mystery. It was all so under wraps and such a thrill. And the cast and crew were just incredibly creative and thoughtful.

- How did your family react when they found out that you were playing in The Walking Dead Universe?
My mom is a HUGE TWD fan, as was I.  She was  so excited and proud. I even brought her with me to Georgia while filming some of the episodes and we have so many fond memories of that time.

With a role in TWD/FTWD comes a Big Fan Community, what are your first The Walking
Dead fan experiences?

There was an article that came out (I wish I could remember) but it had announced me before the show had even aired and I was shocked that it was leaked. Then the fans started following my work and socials. It was incredible. Also it was really cool while filming a lot of fans came to watch from across the street one day while filming. TWD fans are incredible!

- Jesse , you worked in many other series and Movies Like “Halloween Ends” , “Outer Banks”.... Whats your personal highlight so far?

I was a series regular on a show called “DAY5”, that ran for 2 seasons. It’s streaming on Tubi now. It was another end-of-world type show. The premise was if you go to sleep you die. So it was like TWD meets A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. I loved working on that show so much. It a shame we never got a 3rd season but it’s worth the watch for anybody looking to scratch there apocalyptic itch!

- You are not only an Actor you also the Lead Singer of PrettyDead Ferrari. What can you tell us about the Music and the Band?
Yes! I love making music! I have a band with fellow FEAR THE WALKING DEAD actor Evan Gamble. We have been making music since 2010. We are actually recording and entire new album now. It’s called HIPPIE SHIT. It’s 11 new songs and should be out early next year. We have a single dropping in the next month. Our music is on all streaming platforms. Go check it out!

- Is there any dream role or actor/actress you would loved to work in the future?
My dream role is always changing. I have been so fortunate to keep working. I love complex roles with a lot of depth. I can’t pin down just one actor/actress I’d love to work with, but a director I would love to work with is Mike Flanagan. Everything he creates is just so brilliant. I guess the dream would be, being cast as a series regular on the next BIG show that has a cultural impact.

- Is there anything else you would like to let TWD Fans and your fans know?
That I appreciate every single one of them. They are the fuel to my fire and I’m so blessed to be able to do what I love and I couldn’t do that without their support!

- Thank you being my guest Jesse C Boyd and best wishes for the future. I hope to see you one day in Germany.
Thanks for having me! It’s a dream of mine to see Germany one day! I look forward to it!
