Shanna Keil Interview
The first thing I remember was the incredible decors.
- Hello Shanna Keil and thank you for your time for the Fans of WearetheWalkingDead.de.
- Shanna, When was the time you know you want to be an
actress?
I think it was when I started my acting trials for "Mystère", with all the equipment surrounding me : lights, combos or cameras etc, I found it really interesting and fun, I liked it so much, and I tought "why not?".
- You worked in one of my Favorite series. "The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon". How did you get cast?
I had the opportunity thanks to my agent, she found that casting, I saw it and I was like "wow the walking dead ?! an american serie !". I was so so excited, I made the videos, then I met the casting director, and I got the role!
- Which role did you play in the series?
I played the role of an orphan, who lived with other children. who lost their parents. They all lived in a school to protect themselves from zombies and they all had their own job. Mine was to cook for everyone, I was the chef.
- Working in TWD Universe, What is the first what you remember when you look back on set?
The first thing I remember was the incredible decors. There was a burned and overturned car, zombies' heads with fake blood, weapons, full of weeds, it was so cool. With other teens and children, when we arrived on set, we were all saying "ohh, woaww" !
- What do you think has been the key to this show's success and why have people responded to it like they have?
I think it was, first, because of the decors, it's rare to see apocalyptic settings like these, and I think it was impressive for people watching the show. Then, the suspense in the serie, when we watch TWD, we never stop thinking "will they survive?", and it attracts everyone. And finally, series with zombies, or something which doesn't really exist often make people from their reality.
- Here's a fun little hypothetical for you. How would you fare in a zombie apocalypse?
I think I will take all of the food and water that I see, I will take so much kitchen knives and I will barricade myself in my bedroom, with my family or maybe with friends. And I will download so much series and films before there is no wifi
In any case I would be very afraid.
Do you have any interesting or funny stories from your time on the set?
Sometimes between scenes, we played board games on the floor, or we took selfies with our apocalyptic outfits, it was really fun and I laughed so much with other teens and children.
- Shanna, you also work in "Mystère". Is there something you can share with us?
You probably know it, but in Mystère, I played with real wolves (they were 7), so, to have no problem on set, I met them when they were babies, they were just 3 weeks old, and they were sooo cute! All week long during 3 months, I came to see them, played with them, I really loved doing this. And now, I am like a sister to them, because I spent so much time with them when they were little!
- Is there anything else you would like to let TWD Fans and your fans know?
Don't believe anyone, zombies on set are very funny and kind ! It was really cool to try "apocalyptic outfits", we almost believed in it! And, for my hairstyle, I must had very tangled hair, it was fun at the time, but when I came back from filming, I (with my mother's help) spend so much time trying to detangle them
- That's a perfect way to end! I can tell you that the fans at WeareTheWalkingDead.de are really excited about this show and Thank you taking the time for me.
