Joey Rodriguez Interview
Between takes we spent a fair amount of time talking motorcycles with Norman Reedus
- Hello Joey Rodriguez and thank you for your time for the Fans of The Walking Dead.
No problem, thank you for reaching out Bernd!
- Joey , When was the time you know you want to be an actor?
I’ve always been involved in the arts. Whether that meant playing in a band, writing poems and short stories, photography, or acting - it’s all kind of the same thing - just a means to expression.
- You worked in one of my Favorite series. "The Walking Dead" How did you get cast ?
Yeah - that was really fun. It was a simple selection process. They wanted some guys who could ride a bike and had the right look for outlaw biker type. Also, you had to provide your own bike to set.
- You played an Savior ,thats right?
Yes. I was part of that Savior Biker crew that tries to hold up Norman and friends.
- Working in The Walking Dead, What is the first what you remember when you look back on set?
Riding to set in the van next to Norman Reedus. He was pretty cool with everyone. Down to earth / easy to talk to.
- When you look back Do you have any interesting behind-the-scenes stories you can share?
Between takes we spent a fair amount of time talking motorcycles with Norman. He’s really into it and rides constantly.
- With a role in TWD/FTWD comes a Big Fan Community, what are your first The Walking
Dead fan experiences?
The TWD community has been great ! They’re all such huge fans of the show that even though my part was very small, I’ve been treated really, really well by everyone I’ve met to date.
- Never say never in the TWD Universe. Will you come back ,maybe for a Tales of TWD Episode or Dead City?
That would be a great gig! Sign me up!
- When i look at your Facebook Page i see Kurt Russel "Escape from New York" ,is there a story behind you and the caracter "Snake Plissken”?
Just loved that picture - and there’s at least a passing resemblance.
- What will we see next from you? Any projects/movies/series?
Thanks for asking: I have 2 small roles complete. I play a bad guy in a just released movie called Billionaire Playboy Replacement Bride. It’s available now on an APP called Serial +.
I also have a small role in a new Kevin Bacon series called The Bondsman, which will be out on Prime later this year.
- Is there any dream role or actor/actress you would loved to work in the future?
I would love to be part of a western! And anything with Tom Hardy would be great. His series Taboo a few years ago blew me away. Really great, dark, moody period piece.
- Is there anything else you would like to let TWD Fans and your fans know? Thanks so much for being so invested and being such nice fans ! It’s been great meeting everyone!
- Thank you being my guest Joey Rodriguez and best wishes for the future. I hope to see you one day in Germany. You’re welcome and thank you for reaching out. Very best to you and yours,
