Evan J Mackey Interview
I was very thrilled to work with these actors!

- Hello Evan J Mackey and thank you for your time for the Fans of The Walking Dead.

- Evan , When was the time you know you wanted to be an actor?

"In 2018, I was performing as a clown jumping from a platform while attached to a bungee at Haunted Montrose in Montrose, GA. One night between visitors it occurred to me that I wanted to do more with acting throughout the year and not just during haunt season so I decided right then I would find a way to work in the film industry.
In December 2023, I successfully signed with my agent, The Wayne Agency, and I complete auditions weekly with a positive outlook ahead.

- You worked in one of my Favorite series. "Fear the Walking Dead" How did you get cast?

"After several years of doing background acting and a handful of principal roles I finally came across the extras casting for the main show filmed in Senoia, GA. I loved my experience there so much I sought after the casting company for Fear The Walking Dead as soon as I found out they were moving filming from Texas to Georgia. Finally I found the extras casting company, Bill Marinella Casting, and they booked me."

- Which role did you play in the series?

"When I first walked on to the set of Fear I was playing as a frosty walker deep in the background during the snowy scenes. After doing this and playing a walker a few other times they decided to bring me in for a fitting. They informed me I'd be playing a featured soldier role. I got on set a week later and found out I would be filming along side several of the lead actors. Austin Amelio, Christine Evangelista, Jenna Elfman, Colman Domingo, Isha Blaaker, and more were all there. I was very thrilled to work with these actors! They worked very well together and held professionalism at all times creating a great environment to collaborate in and on an awesome television show at that!"

- Working in FTWD, What is the first thing that you remember when you look back on set?

"After working with some of the key actors this has to be a highlight of my time working on the show. They were certainly some of the best in the business. This moment was very memorable. I also remember several of my friends I met on this set. Many of them I still talk to and work with to this day. Alot of times lifelong friends are made on film sets. We work together whether it's cold, hot or rainy outside and alot of times 12 hours or more in a day."

- How did your family react when they found out that you were playing in The Walking Dead Universe?

"My parents were very excited to hear of this news because they have followed The Walking Dead Universe since Day 1 when the series premiered in 2010. They also love Fear so this was awesome to hear that their son would be in the show in any capacity. God bless them they are my number one supporters in everything I do in this industry."

- With a role in TWD/FTWD comes a Big Fan Community, what are your first The Walking
Dead fan experiences?

"My friend Wendy who works with me at Lake Joy Trails of Terror (Kathleen, GA) approached me with a photo printed screenshot of one of the scenes from Fear that I'm in and asked for me to sign it. I was ecstatic and signed it for her and she told me she was going to hang it on her wall. This made my day and I will always remember it!"

- Evan you also work in the Movie "Redhead" from Sam and Johnna Hodge. Something you can share with us about this Horror Movie ?

"Yes! My dear friends Sam and Johnna Hodge are the directors of this original horror film.  Redhead focuses on Autumn Blacksmith and she is an estranged woman you do not want to mess with. Autumn is out for revenge against anyone who does her wrong inlcuding my perverted character Tommy who wants nothing but to get a little too close to her.

Redhead is currently on the festival circuit and is doing very well! Winning countless awards and most recently Best SFX and Best Horror Film at Freedom Festival International!"

- You also had a little spot in "Zombieland: Double Tap" thats right?

Yes we filmed that one in early 2019. I worked as a T-800 zombie in the scenes where the hippie camp was taken over. This is where I met many of my friends from The Walking Walking Dead and we pushed through several cold overnight shoots in the process of making this movie. Whatever the weather is I have to say it is all worth it. My friends I met there I later saw again on set of The Walking Dead a couple years later."

- Are you currently working on anything interesting Movie or Series outside "The Walking Dead" that you can reveal?

"Currently I am in a lead role for a film titled - The Trip. We started filming in February and filming is expected to conclude early 2025. The film will follow my character who is grieving from the loss of his wife and he returns to the forest where she died to reconnect with her through psychedelics.

Outside of this I just had my first SAG-AFTRA role in Not Another Church Movie which was seen in theaters this past spring. I played as a college frat guy in this film starring Kevin Daniels, Vivica Fox, and Jamie Foxx"

- Is there any dream role or actor/actress you would love to work in the future?

"There are so many wonderful actors and actresses out there. I would be thrilled to work with any single one of them and create a great film!

To list a few:
Johnny Depp
Tom Holland
Madds Mikkelson
Florence Pugh
Benedict Cumberbatch
Timothee Chalemet
Elizabeth Olsen
Scarlett Johannson
...many more

A dream role would be playing as any type of villian, an individual going through drug abuse, a psycho, someone dealing with a possession. Anything of this nature would be alot of fun to portray. I am open any role however!"

- Is there anything else you would like to let TWD Fans and your fans know?

"Continue following The Walking Dead Universe and remember you also could also play a walker in one of the spinoff if you wish!"

- Thank you being my guest Evan J Mackey and best wishes for the future. I hope to see you one day in Germany.

"Thank you for this interview opportunity and hopefully see you one day!"
