- Hello Gilbert and thank you for your time for the Fans.
Hello Bernd, an absolute pleasure to meet you as well. Thanks so much for the
interview. I appreciate, you and your readers being fans of the show.

- Gilbert , When was the time you know you want to be an actor?
Well, I’ve always been creative growing up, whether it was writing my own stories or
illustrating my own comic books. I’d done a few grade school plays, but didn’t really take
interest until high school, where I joined a youth musical theatre company on a dare, the
light was lit then and continued through college and into my professional career and life.

- 2023 you got cast for TWD Daryl Dixon. How did you get cast ?
I pretty much went through the normal process of being submitted and pitched to the
casting office by my representation. In the beginning I don’t recall them ever listing
exactly what the show was, due to the popularity of the series (and spin-offs). I don’t
think they even announced the full slate of spin-offs by the time the auditions occurred.
They really tried to keep as much of that information under wraps as to minimize leaks. I
then received the scenes, which contained the character description, premise etc; from
there I filmed my audition (self-tape). All I knew at that point was that it filmed overseas.
I submitted my tape, received casting notes/adjustments from the casting office/director
and re-recorded my self-tape. A few days later I informed I was cast as Jones. That’s
when I was told that it was TWD:Darryl Dixon and I was floored!

- What is the first what you remember when you look back on set from The Walking
Dead?
There are quite a few things that jumped out at me, so I’ll list a few. The first was the
lush green, the difference in the set vibe in Paris, the commitment and openness of
everyone in the cast from principle actors to background to crew, the fact that they built
an “American” location in the middle of a preserve in Parisa was miraculous and last but
not least Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride were so welcoming, down to earth and
great to work with.

- With a role in TWD Universe comes a Big Fan Community, what are your first The
Walking Dead fan experiences?

Because I don’t always walk around with a beard, recognition isn’t a constant situation,
however when it does happen it’s AWESOME! I’ve got to say it’s really an honor to be
welcomed into and being a part of TWD legacy!

- Working with Norman Reedus will be a dream of many Fans, how was it for yourself?
Norman is a fantastic guy! Really down to earth and generous. In between takes and
during down time, we talked about everything from the differences in the approach to
the work, to New York, the business, to being in Paris! He was that way with everyone.
A very open guy and wonderful actor.

- Gilbert , you also work in many other Projects like Stargirl , Mayans M.C., NCIS ,
Stranger Things and many more. Whats your personal Highlight so far?
Every single projects I’ve worked on offered its own unique experience and highlight, so
it’s hard to pick just one. I’m the kind of actor that looks for the magic in every
opportunity and does their best to raise the stakes and give my all.

- What will we see next from you? Any projects/movies/series?
Yes! You’ll see me in the new season of TWD: Darryl Dixon with Melissa McBride, In the
new film Lilly alongside Patricia Clarkson, the western Long Shadow, the film All Hail
Anastasia, I’m scheduled to recur on the show All American and I am currently
developing a new medical drama.

- Is there any dream role or actor/actress you would loved to work in the future?
I’ll be honest, I love what I do, period. Are there specific artists I’d love to work with?
Absolutely! However, at the end of the day I love new opportunities to create with other
amazing humans, telling incredible stories all while providing entertainment to the world.
So the mission I chose to accept? To deliver every single time! Hopefully my body of
work shows that.

- Is there anything else you would like to let TWD Fans and your fans know?
