Danny Jacobs Interview
This one episode of The Mandalorian that has inspired the most amount of fan feedback.

Thank you Danny Jacobs for your time for the Fans.

- When was the time you knew you wanted to be an actor?

It happened in a moment. When I was 18 and was a volunteer in a college improv show. The moment I got on stage, it was as if my brain exploded. I could see colors that I didn’t even now were there.

Among other things, you played in "The Mandalorian" an Lab Tech. Were you a Star Wars fan before you got cast?

For sure. I had grown up on the original trilogy. And, incidentally, have been introducing my kids to it (we’re currently making our way through The Mandalorian but haven’t gotten to my episode yet).

- Danny ,Could you share some funny, remarkable, weird stories regarding the filming of your scenes ?

The thing that really stood out about the shoot was the use of the XXX, which is the incredibly sophisticated digital wall that surrounds the set and projects an extension of the cinematic world we’re in. Sometimes, I would be standing there on set and I honestly couldn’t tell where the actual set ended and the digital one began. It was so incredibly immersive. Beyond that, I mean, I almost had an aneurysm when I realized that the droid that was going to bump into me wasn't going to be digital, but instead a real life robot (being manipulated by talented engineers immediately off screen).

– With a role in Star Wars The Mandalorian comes a Big Fan Community, what are your first star wars fan experiences?

It’s mostly just the passion. I’ve been a working actor for almost twenty five years but it’s this one episode of The Mandalorian that has inspired the most amount of fan feedback. It’s truly incredible.

- Danny , you worked for so many Movies and series like The Mandalorian , Lethal Weapon ,American Crimw Story. What was your personal Highlight?

Mostly, it’s the actors I’ve gotten to work with. From Michael Sheen, to Sarah Paulson, to Margo Martindale, getting to work with legends like that has been an absolute treat. And beyond that, it’s my own films that I write and direct (HUMBOLDT COUNTY and GROWING UP AND OTHER LIES). Bringing an idea to the big screen from a singular moment of inspiration will always been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

- Is there something special you would love to do in the future? Maybe another role in Star Wars?

I just want to work. Acting is such a privilege and to continue to get to do it is something I never take for granted.

- Since 2023 you make the Podcast "How to Destroy Everything" What can you tell us about this project?

Oh, thanks so much for asking about it. It’s the most personal project I’ve ever done. It’s about my dad, who was a malignant narcissist who destroyed his family, his community and the city of St. Louis at large (where I’m from). And it’s about me, as his adult son, trying to come other grips with the destruction he wrought. But, you know, it’s funny. ;)

- Where can we stream this Podcast?

Anywhere! Apple, Spotify, etc.

- Thank you for your time Danny Jacobs! Let’s end this interview with some words for the fans?

Mostly, I just want to than you all for your incredible passion. As a lowly mid-level manager within the epic Star Wars universe, it just tickles me that I’m even noticed at all.
